On 24 April Femina group as the organizer of Young Lions Indonesia announced the winners of the competition, which will represent the country in the international Young Lions event in Cannes, France, in June. For this year’s competition, Indonesia will compete only in the Media category.
Prior to the announcement of the winners, head of P3I Jakarta Irfan Ramli expressed his hopes that following the win at Young Spikes Asia last year, Indonesia’s delegates to Cannes Young Lions this year will also produce a positive result.
The brief for the candidates had been quite challenging, one that had caught many participants and finalists into focusing on the wrong aspect of the issue despite the instructions. Candidates had to device a campaign to assist Rumah Autis in attracting more qualified staff to join its operations, but many of the resulting proposals and pitches ended up about creating awareness of autism itself rather than the actual purpose.
In the end, out of the 64 teams that submitted their entries, the team from TBWA, which consists of group strategic planner Denny Eko Prasetyo and content strategist and copywriter Satria Partala Pamungkas, were chosen as the winning team to represent Indonesia in Cannes in June. 5th Avenue’s Hendri Sadikin and Widya Arifianti took second place.
Seems that there’s something brewing over at TBWA among its young talents as last year’s Young Spikes winners, Wisnu Satya Putra and Lila Talitha were also from TBWA.
Anne Mutia Ridwan, Group Managing Director at Leo Burnett Indonesia and head judge for the competition had a few words to say ahead of the winner’s announcement.
