Indosat Appoints Ogilvy As Its New Creative Agency

As we tweeted last Thursday, mobile network company Indosat announced the following day that it has selected Ogilvy & Mather as its creative agency from this point forward, replacing JWT which has served the company for the last four years.

Previously Indosat had been with DDB for eight years before appointing JWT back in 2010 along with Macs909. The two companies oversaw the rebranding of Indosat with a new logo in 2011 as well as the repositioning and rebranding of Indosat Mentari, the company’s premium pre-paid mobile service, in 2012.

“We thank JWT Indonesia which had collaborated well in helping Indosat to remain as the people’s choice”, Indosat’s chief marketing officer Loong Tuck Weng said in a statement.

Indosat, which is a member of the Ooredoo group, serves roughly 55 million mobile network subscribers, the majority of which are composed of prepaid services through Indosat Mentari and Indosat M3, while post paid subscribers are with Indosat Matrix. The company also maintains an ISP subsidiary, Indosat M2, communications infrastructure company Lintas Arta, as well as a handful of other subsidiary companies across the world.
